CAT CAFE MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
When our founder set out to create a nonprofit Cat Cafe, it was with the genuine intent to save more cats from being euthanized. LA has one of the worst stray cat populations, creating overfill in the city and county shelters. It is the mission of our organization to create an outlet that would revolutionize cat adoptions and become part of the solution to reduce the stray cat and shelter over-population challenge. By partnering with a rescue, we provide them an outlet to pull more cats out of the shelter. Caring for a colony of cats, finding them the right furever home, and managing a staff to help all of that happen is where YOU come in!
We are looking for a cat-passionate, customer service-oriented Store Manager to oversee daily operations at our cat cafe. As the Store Manager, you will supervise the operational and organizational standards of the cat cafe. Your duties will include ensuring staff give great customer service as well as ensure proper cat colony management protocols are followed, undertaking administrative tasks, monitoring inventory levels, and acting as key point of contact with our rescue partners' team.
The ideal candidate must be able to embody the company mission and founding principles, excel in creating a customer friendly environment, while efficiently managing a cat colony. In addition to being an excellent communicator, you should also demonstrate outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
Ensure cat care compliance using health and safety protocols
Communicate effectively with rescue partner regarding cat colony updates
Deliver excellent service to ensure high levels of guest experience
Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner
Lead and coach staff through performance issues, conduct performance evaluations, and update Employee Manual
Hire, train, mentor, and oversee new staff
Scheduling both staff and volunteers
Monitor inventory levels and order new items
Develop and arrange promotional material and in-store displays
Create business strategies to attract new customers, expand store traffic to increase adoption conversions
Prepare detailed reports on guest trends and feedback
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field preferred
A minimum of 1 year experience working in a retail environment in a managerial role
And
A minimum of 1 year experience working with rescue animals
Proven strong leadership and staff management capabilities
Strong customer relationship skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills, including retail POS, SLACK type communication systems, and Google Docs
